Troubleshooting PEQ-15

Find quick troubleshooting answers for the SomoGear PEQ-15, including battery installation, LED indicator status, IR illuminator pulse rate, GBB recoil cut-off, IR visibility, and zeroing adjustment.

Always install the battery with the positive terminal facing the battery cap. If the PEQ-15 does not power on, remove the battery and check the battery direction, battery condition, and contact points before testing again with a new or fully charged battery.

If your PEQ-15 keeps flashing while it is not set to flash mode, the battery is likely low. Please replace it with a new or fully charged battery and test again.

The LED indicator helps show the device status:

Green light= Working correctly
Red light= Low battery
Orange light= Programming mode

First, make sure the battery is installed in the correct direction and that the battery is new, fully charged, and not faulty. If possible, test the PEQ-15 again with another new battery.

If the device still does not work, please send a short video to support@somogear.com. The video should clearly show the battery installation, device activation, and LED indicator light status.

The IR illuminator pulse rate may need to be adjusted. Please set the pulse rate to 0 per second by following the official operation manual here: How to Program SomoGear PEQ-15 IR Illuminator Pulse Rate.

After the pulse rate is set to 0 per second, the IR illuminator should stay on normally.

If the PEQ-15 cuts off during GBB recoil, the battery may be moving inside the battery compartment under recoil. Please place an O-ring inside the battery compartment and test again.

If the device still turns off, try another O-ring size to improve battery contact and reduce recoil-related power interruption.

Please test the IR illuminator or IR laser in a dark environment and away from strong light sources. Bright ambient light, indoor lighting, or direct light exposure can make the IR output harder to see under night vision devices.

Also make sure your night vision device is working properly and is suitable for detecting the IR 850nm wavelength used by the PEQ-15.

First, turn both the elevation and windage adjustment screws clockwise to the end. Then begin the zeroing process again slowly and carefully.

Make sure you are adjusting the correct control points and testing in a proper environment. If the issue continues, please send a short video to support@somogear.com. SomoGear will review the case and reply as soon as possible.

What should I do if the troubleshooting steps do not solve the issue?

If the issue remains after checking the battery, LED indicator, tail jack spring, mount, and zeroing operation, please contact SomoGear support at support@somogear.com.

Please include your order number, product model, and a short video clearly showing the issue. SomoGear will review the case and reply within 48 hours.
